BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Born 'Philip Anthony Hopkins'on the 31st of December 1937 to Muriel and Philip Hopkins. He grew up in Port Talbot,South Wales as the son of a Baker.

He spent most of his childhood alone and was,in his own words:'lousy at school'.He showed little in the way of academic aptitude, and so at the age of 17,he joined the local community drama club.It was then that he realised his true path in life.

He went on to join the Welsh College of Music and Drama, and in 1961 he won a scholarship to study at RADA in London. After several stage appearances at the Old Vic,he made his break into the movies, starring in such films as:The Lion In Winter,A Bridge Too Far and The Bounty. However,it wasn't until his chilling portrayal as Hannibal Lecter that he truly found worldwide recognition.
